Sight Words
Our district focuses on the Fry's first 100 words for first grade. The words are listed below. Sight words are important for beginning readers to be able to recognize quickly, without any sort of solving. These words often do not follow traditional phonics patterns. With these words being quickly recognized, children can save their solving energy for more challenging words. Videos are posted at the bottom of each list so students can practice and self-check. |
